Rope access training

Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) is a leading authority organization which directs and regulates a proven safe working method for all work at height. STIC is a proud member of IRATA and facilitates as an IRATA training member center. The teaching of IRATA syllabus enables rope access technicians to progress through three levels of proficiency, with certification issued at each level. All In our training center in Rayong Thailand where we offer training for IRATA level 1, 2 and 3. Partly due to the atmosphere within the organization and the quality of our trainers, the success rate is well above. Our training center in Thailand offers our attendees a wide range of in-depth training and competency.

Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA)

IRATA has developed a proven solution that is recognized internationally by multinational corporations for reaching inaccessible places safely at locations such as offshore platforms and rig installations, buildings, structures, industrial plants and wind turbines. With more than 140,000 technicians registered in over 50 countries and in every continent, Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) is been recognized as the world’s leading authority on industrial rope access. IRATA International has a continuously evolving regime of work procedures that members are required to follow and which are monitored for compliance to ensure that a safe system of work is established and maintained. This sets us as an IRATA Training Member Company apart from rope access companies that are not subject to such a rigorous monitoring, controls and IRATA’s robust Training, Assessment and Certification Scheme (TACS).

Industrial Rope Access Training

At STIC we offer IRATA training courses. A course lasts from Monday to Friday. During this week you will gain theoretical knowledge and often practice in the ropes. Exercise, practice, practice: you learn what to do in common situations. In our training room are all necessary materials, as well as a diversity of installations that you might encounter in practice.

The training will end with an examination carried out by an independent (external) assessor who will assess your progress.

• An IRATA certificate is valid for 3 years

• Worldwide recognition for levels 1, 2 and 3

What are IRATA’s requirements?

Level 1

This is the basic training that covers all aspects of working safely with industrial rope techniques. Experience is not required, but you are at least 18 years old and medically approved. This level provides a clear understanding and fundamental principle of Rope access methods used for work at heights.

Level 2

To pass this level you must have at least 1 year or more of level 1 experience in which you have worked 1,000 demonstrable practical hours at level 1.

Level 3

Prerequisites for achieving IRATA level 3 are that you have at least 1 year or more of experience at level 2 in which you have worked 1,000 demonstrable practical hours at level 2. You must also have a valid first aid certificate. At this level there will be other requirements.

IRATA Training Scheme

Under the IRATA Training Assessment and Certification Scheme, all rope access work must be supervised by an IRATA Level 3 supervisor, whom shall be also qualified with a valid First Aid certification.

Why follow IRATA training?

People often think that IRATA and rope access are the same, but that is not true. Rope access means: getting access to places (at height/ in depth) using rope techniques.
IRATA is a worldwide recognized organization that deals with and regulates safe execution of rope access methods of operations and training schemes.
By following IRATA training you will learn the guidelines that IRATA sets and you will be able to practice rope access in a most safe way.

For whom is IRATA training?

The IRATA courses are intended to teach participants a safe methodology in the field of rope access. The IRATA training is for everyone who wants to learn the IRATA method in order to safely use rope access. The minimum age is 18 years and experience is not required. To follow an IRATA level 2 or 3 training there are other requirements needed to be followed through.

How long is an IRATA certificate valid?

The IRATA certificate is valid for three years. This certificate is only valid when you have worked with rope access at least once every six months. If you have not climbed for over six months within a valid certification period of time. In order to have your certificate declared valid again, you can follow a refresher training*. This training takes a maximum of one day and depends on whether the trainer monitors and evaluate that you have passed the exercises satisfactory at your level.

 

 

Why follow refresher training?

An IRATA certificate is valid for period of three years. There is one exception though, if you haven’t climbed for over 6 months according to your logbook, the certificate is no longer valid. The duration of a refresher varies per participant. The IRATA refresh course ideal aim is to allowing you to carry out rope access work at height again without having to follow an entire training course.
