Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) is a leading authority organization which directs and regulates a proven safe working method for all work at height. STIC is a proud member of IRATA and facilitates as an IRATA training member center. The teaching of IRATA syllabus enables rope access technicians to progress through three levels of proficiency, with certification issued at each level. All In our training center in Rayong Thailand where we offer training for IRATA level 1, 2 and 3. Industrial Rope Access Training

At STIC we offer IRATA training courses. A course lasts from Monday to Friday. During this week you will gain theoretical knowledge and often practice in the ropes. Exercise, practice, practice: you learn what to do in common situations. In our training room are all necessary materials, as well as a diversity of installations that you might encounter in practice.

The training will end with an examination carried out by an independent (external) assessor who will assess your progress.

• An IRATA certificate is valid for 3 years

What are IRATA’s requirements?

Level 1

This is the basic training that covers all aspects of working safely with industrial rope techniques. Experience is not required, but you are at least 18 years old and medically approved. This level provides a clear understanding and fundamental principle of Rope access methods used for work at heights.

Level 2

To pass this level you must have at least 1 year or more of level 1 experience in which you have worked 1,000 demonstrable practical hours at level 1.

Level 3

Prerequisites for achieving IRATA level 3 are that you have at least 1 year or more of experience at level 2 in which you have worked 1,000 demonstrable practical hours at level 2. You must also have a valid first aid certificate. At this level there will be other requirements.

IRATA Training Scheme

Under the IRATA Training Assessment and Certification Scheme, all rope access work must be supervised by an IRATA Level 3 supervisor, whom shall be also qualified with a valid First Aid certification.

Why follow IRATA training?

How long is an IRATA certificate valid?

The IRATA certificate is valid for three years. This certificate is only valid when you have worked with rope access at least once every six months. If you have not climbed for over six months within a valid certification period of time. In order to have your certificate declared valid again, you can follow a refresher training*. This training takes a maximum of one day and depends on whether the trainer monitors and evaluate that you have passed the exercises satisfactory at your level.

 

 

Why follow refresher training?

An IRATA certificate is valid for period of three years. There is one exception though, if you haven’t climbed for over 6 months according to your logbook, the certificate is no longer valid. The duration of a refresher varies per participant. The IRATA refresh course ideal aim is to allowing you to carry out rope access work at height again without having to follow an entire training course.
